Getting Nervous

Well I am less than 2 days from going to the LIFE program and I am officially getting nervous. I'm worried that I am so out of shape that I will have a tough time getting started. I hope that there are more people there that are as out of shape as me, I don't want to feel like I'm the only one. I am going into this in the worst shape of my life, and I hope that I am able to turn everything around in 8 weeks. I don't know how realistic that is, but I am really hoping that it will at least get me started.

Everything else is going ok. I have everything that I need to leave on Tuesday. I picked up the last few things that I needed, so tomorrow night will be the packing night. I hope that I don't forget anything, but I can't pack everything I own either.

My wife is starting to feel the looming deadline as well. She's happy that I am going to be taking such a big step in getting healthy, but she is not going to like being alone for 2 months either. I would like her mom to come visit for a couple of weeks to keep her company, but I'm not sure she will be able to. My wife is going to be concentrating a lot more on her Mary Kay business well I am gone as well. Plus, for those of you who don't know my wife has started a blog telling our story from her perspective. You can find her blog at Please follow and support her as well.

I was excited today, the NFL really kicked off today. Tomorrow night my team plays, the New England Patriots. I can't wait till kick off. I hope I'll be able to watch some of the games on Sunday's as I'm working out.

Well I am going to get going, I'll talk to all of you tomorrow. Please keep the comments coming. Thanks everyone.

  1. The idea is for them to help you get in shape! It will just take some determination on your part and I'm sure you'll be just fine. Good luck and keep blogging!

  2. Best of luck Chris!
Try not to be nervous, and try not to let the shape that others are in get you down. Use those people as a positive reminder (if they are in better shape than you) "that's the shape I will be in soon" kinda-thing... ya know?
    Sending good vibes your way

  3. Good luck to you. It's great that you are doing something to take care of yourself. It wll be hard for you and your wife at first but you need to take care of yourself to be a better husband to her.

  4. Hi Chris, Good luck with the packing etc... I'm following Rebecca now as well. It's fantastic that you two are so much in support of each other and I think your both going to do fantastically!
Looking forward to hearing all about Day One at LIFE!

  5. Hey Chris, The family is 100% behind you. You are doing this for all the right reasons.

    Love you,

    Aunt Tina

  6. Okay so I won't give you grief for being a football fan (die hard hockey fan here)

Anything this big going on in your life is bound to make you nervous. Keep faith and know that two months from now you'll be a better version of yourself!!

  7. Good luck on your adventure! You will do great! I just moved to Massachusetts 5 months ago and my husband and I are very excited for our first Patriots game tonight! :)

  8. Good luck! Can't wait to hear about it.

  9. Chris, I'm looking forward to following your LIFE journey. It sounds tough but so life altering and self affirming too. It seems like you will learn a lot about yourself on this journey.

What's more you look to have prepared the way well. Good luck, best wishes and I'm supporting you...
